Mac compatibility
Can you play Delta Force on a Mac?
Short answer: No. Delta Force runs Anti-Cheat Expert (ACE), a kernel-level Windows anti-cheat that blocks Wine-based layers like Grapple.
What we know
Steam's store page for Delta Force discloses that it uses a kernel level anti-cheat, Anti-Cheat Expert (ACE).
ACE is documented as taking kernel-level access on Windows, and most games that use it block desktop Linux from running through Proton, the Wine-based layer Grapple shares its technology with.
A Delta Force developer wrote on the game's Steam forum in December 2024: "Linux is currently not supported. And Steam Deck is also not supported at the moment, but we will start considering how to port it." Nothing has changed since, and AreWeAntiCheatYet lists the game as denied.
Steam lists Delta Force for Windows only; its requirements call for DirectX 12. The graphics layer isn't the obstacle here — the anti-cheat is.

What to do instead
There are no Grapple settings that get around a kernel-level anti-cheat block, and we won't suggest workarounds that could get your account banned. If the publisher offers cloud streaming, that runs on a Mac; otherwise it needs a Windows PC.

Test record
Not tested by us: the block is documented by the publisher or anti-cheat maker (see sources), and we don't try to bypass anti-cheat.
FAQ
Can I play Delta Force on a Mac?
No. Delta Force runs Anti-Cheat Expert (ACE), a kernel-level Windows anti-cheat that blocks Wine-based layers like Grapple.
Why doesn't Delta Force work with Grapple?
Delta Force relies on Anti-Cheat Expert (ACE), which uses a kernel-mode driver on Windows. Grapple is built on Wine, which runs Windows programs in user space without a Windows kernel, so that driver can't load — and the publisher doesn't allow Wine-based layers. The same applies to CrossOver and other Wine-based tools. Only the game's developer can change that.
Will a future Grapple update make Delta Force work?
Not by itself. Anti-cheat blocks like this are decided by the publisher, not by compatibility tools. If the publisher changes its policy, we'll re-test and update this page.
Is there a Mac version of Delta Force?
Steam lists Delta Force for Windows only. There is no Mac version.
