Can you play Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri on a Mac?
Short answer: Likely to work, but not tested yet — Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri is a DirectX 9 game, the oldest path Grapple runs. Try it on the Free plan and tell us how it went.
What we know
Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri is sold on GOG as the Planetary Pack, for Windows only. Its listed requirements ask for a 3D graphics card compatible with DirectX 9.0c.
Grapple sets GOG Galaxy up in one click and opens it at its sign-in screen, though we haven't yet tested downloading or playing a game through it. You can also add the game to Grapple without a launcher, which it supports.
DirectX 9 is the oldest thing Grapple runs, and the longest-standing part of the engine it is built on. That's an expectation, not a result — nobody has run this one with Grapple yet.

You can change the same options in the app; from the command line, replace <bottle> with the name of the Windows environment the game runs in — bottle is the CLI's technical term for it.

Can I play Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri on a Mac?
Likely to work — not tested yet. DirectX 9 predates DXMT, so Grapple runs it through Wine's own WineD3D layer, which has handled DirectX 9 for years. That's what the game's published facts suggest, not a result. We publish a verified status only after running the game on a real Mac.
