Can you play Battlefield 4 on a Mac?
Short answer: Unknown — not tested yet: Steam lists no DirectX version for Battlefield 4, so there's nothing to reason from until someone runs it. Try it on the Free plan and tell us how it went.
What we know
Steam lists Battlefield 4 for Windows only. Steam's release year is 2020; that's when EA put it on Steam.
Steam's requirements for it don't name a DirectX version, so we have nothing to base an expectation on. Running it once will tell us more than any spec sheet.
Steam's store page lists PunkBuster as its anti-cheat, not a kernel-level one, and requires the EA app and an EA account. AreWeAntiCheatYet lists Battlefield 4 as supported on Linux/Proton, naming PunkBuster and FairFight.
